The day, in a nutshell.
The public star party brings telescope viewing to the Observatory lawn. Daytime and evening viewing offer different possibilities; weather and sky conditions determine what is visible. Our planning suggestion: choose a shorter visit for younger children and bring a layer for the evening.
Before everyone gets in the car.
Booking & availability
Check the Observatory event page for last-minute changes and visiting guidance. Telescope queues close early enough for viewing to finish by 9:45pm; arrive before the final minutes.
Getting there & parking
Check the Observatory’s current parking and transit guidance. Free event admission does not mean free parking.
Access needs
Step-free routes, accessible restrooms and sensory accommodations have not been independently confirmed for this event. Ask the organizer about your family’s specific needs.
